We’re excited to share the latest edition of our newsletter, marking a powerful start to the new financial year. This issue highlights the incredible impact of partnership working across our region and the real difference it’s making to the lives of local young people, their families, and the professionals who support them.
In Quarter 1, our collaborative efforts reached 2,368 young people, 121 over-25s, and 141 professionals through a diverse range of engagement, learning, and support initiatives. A key highlight was National Knife Crime Awareness Week in May, during which we raised vital awareness about the consequences of knife crime through community-based interventions, social media outreach, and youth-led storytelling.
Our local VRPs delivered a broad spectrum of impactful wor, from mentoring and peer support to school workshops and tailored support for parents and carers. Detached youth work was also a core element, with over 1,100 young people engaging across multiple areas of Avon and Somerset.
Looking ahead, the summer holidays have created further opportunities to engage communities through multi-agency collaboration, offering activities and support as part of the national Safer Streets Summer Initiative, running from 30 June through to the end of September.
This newsletter also features a summary of the achievements from each of our five spokes during Quarter 1, alongside a spotlight on the activities that took place during Knife Crime Awareness Week.
Together, we continue to build safer spaces and brighter futures, showcasing the power of partnership in transforming lives.
