Building Safer Futures: A Year of Impact from the Avon and Somerset VRP

As we reflect on the past year, the Avon and Somerset Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) is proud to share a powerful story of progress, partnership, and hope. Our latest newsletter highlights the tangible outcomes of our collective efforts to reduce violence and support our communities through a public health and trauma-informed approach.

Making a Difference, Together
From communities to schools, we’ve reached thousands with meaningful interventions:

  • 13,825 young people engaged through youth work, school programmes, and awareness education

  • 778 adults over 25 supported with targeted help

  • 1,101 professionals trained to better support young people

Through 39 innovative interventions, including outreach, sport, and one-to-one support, we’ve helped change lives and improve safety across our region.

Partnership at the Heart
Our progress wouldn’t be possible without the unwavering collaboration between police, health services, local councils, education providers, and grassroots organisations. Together, we’ve built a united front focused on early intervention, prevention, and long-term impact.

The Road Ahead
While we celebrate our achievements, our work continues. Guided by data, lived experiences, and local insight, we remain committed to creating safer, stronger communities, where everyone can thrive free from violence.
